The Final Fantasy Trading Card Game made its global debut in October 2016 and has since then developed into one of the most strategic and diverse card games on the market. With cards spanning every current mainline title from FF1 to FF15, and even including a majority of the spin-off titles in the franchise, it is all but guaranteed that there will be a deck for you!

Whether you are an experienced card game player or brand new, FFTCG is easy to learn, fun to play, and oozing with depth for those who wish to go further. It is our goal to teach you how to play the game and guide you in the right direction for whatever deck you want to build. Are you a fan of Final Fantasy 7? Do you want to play a deck with Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and Aerith? Well, you can! In FFTCG there are endless combinations of cards and characters for you to experiment with, and we want to show you what you’ve been missing out on!

At Anime North 2023 we will be running demos for FFTCG for those who want to learn the basic mechanics of the game. These demos will be short and sweet so you can experience the game and get back to browsing the convention at your leisure. But for those who wish to stick around and take their game to the next level, we will be hosting multiple Final Fantasy TCG tournaments aimed specifically at new players, with some wonderful prizes to get your collection off to an even better start.

Upon purchasing any Final Fantasy TCG Starter Deck, you will be eligible to take place in our Final Fantasy TCG Starter Deck tournament! This will be a best-of-1 tournament, utilizing the swiss format, with no top-cut play. Additional prizing will be awarded to the top players in the standings, prizing TBD. We want you to be able to play and enjoy multiple games of FFTCG while still having plenty of time to go enjoy the convention and all it has to offer, but you are free to come back and use our table space at any time if you wish to play more games!

Deck requirements: 1 deck consisting of 50 cards. Please note that in FFTCG any deck consisting of more OR less than 50 cards is deemed an illegal deck and will be dealt with accordingly at the head judge’s discretion. This may result in a warning, game loss, or disqualification.

Additional notes: Along with a head judge, we will also have volunteer judges to help with any questions/rulings that players may have during the event(s). Please feel free to call upon a judge at any moment for assistance with game mechanics, rulings, order of operations, etc! We want this to be as smooth of a learning experience as possible for all new players, so please feel free to ask any and all questions that you may have! And most importantly, please conduct yourself in a kind and sportsmanlike fashion!
