Moonlight BallImportant Note: The Ball for this year will be held at the Marriott Hotel, 901 Dixon Road, NOT at the Doubletree. A Shuttle bus will be available, but plan accordingly. This hotel is part of the Anime North room block (see Locations & Hotels). The Moonlight Ball returns for its 5th year!
In the style of the Masked Balls of Olde, The Moonlight Ball invites you to an evening of dancing, revelry, and grandeur.
The theme of the ball this year will be A Mad Moonlight Tea Party! Join us in Wonderland on Friday at 9pm in the Plaza Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel for a semi-formal/formal/costume dance.
The Ball last year was a great success and we would like to thank all of our guests for a wonderful evening as well as those who worked so hard to make it happen.

What is the Moonlight Ball?Relax and partake in several Medieval and Renaissance group dances, led by everyone's favourite experienced masters of Ye Olden Dance, Lord Darius and Lady Lynette! These fun and easy follow-along dances will even make a first timer feel like a pro.
Before, after and in-between the group dances, there will be hard core dancing, partying and rocking out to modern tunes brought to you by The Keith & Colonel Gary Show!!
There will also be games, contests and other activities for you to enjoy throughout the night, including Prizes for Best Male, Best Female, and Best Couple Costumes.
If your legs get tired from all that dancing, there will also be tea-party-style seating available. There will be a seat at a table for each guest, and seating is on a first-come first-served basis.
The ticket price also includes a delicious selection of fruit, sandwiches, coffee, tea and desserts. There will also be a cash bar available for soda, other beverages, pizza, and ice-cream bars. Alcoholic beverages will only be sold to those of legal age, and must be consumed in the designated area. If you need cash, the Marriott hotel has an ATM available.

Dress Code for the Moonlight Ball at Anime NorthLast year we were amazed by the calibre of dress and beautiful costumes that guests wore to the Ball.
We do ask and encourage our guests to continue to respect the Dress Code Guidelines for an enjoyable evening. Please bear in mind the nature of the event. Here are some guidelines to consider when deciding what to wear:
Encouraged:- Costumes that would be fitting at a formal ball! This would include Formal Military uniforms, but NOT fatigues.
- Semi-formal/Formal dress/outfits
- Masks
- Clean, presentable footwear
- Formal versions of characters' costumes
- Suggested Minimum level of dress for Gentlemen: Dress Slacks and a Collared Shirt
- Suggested Minimum level of dress for Ladies: Dress Slacks and a Nice Blouse, or simple elegant dress
Discouraged:- Large costumes that could obstruct the dance floor or other areas, or costumes that have protruding elements that could harm you or others. (For example: reasonable-sized large skirts are acceptable, but large wings, bulky mascots or full mechs are discouraged)
- Prop weapons or large props in general as they pose a tripping hazard. For example, walking-style canes are allowed but a scythe is not.
- School Uniforms (Kagome Higurashi? No. Yuki Cross? Yes. A Semi-formal/Formal appearance is key)
Not Allowed in the Ball - will result in denied admission. Tickets will NOT be refunded:- No streetwear such as jeans, cut-offs, t-shirts, sweatshirts, khakis, or sports shorts
- No sneakers/running shoes, sports sandals, dirty or poor-condition footwear
- No "strategically placed fur" costumes such as Lum or Felicia (turn it into a ballroom-style costume!)
- No bikinis, swimwear, or bikini-top costumes (Dress it up! Rikku's bikini top and short shorts would be a no, but what would Rikku wear to a ball?)
- Streetwear costumes are not acceptable dress. Streetwear costumes such as "L" from Deathnote or Winry from FMA(her regular outfit) will be considered streetwear and will not be allowed in.
Please keep in mind that this is a formal event. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone for inappropriate dress, and refunds will NOT be issued. If you have questions about your outfit, please submit a description or preferably a picture to

There will be a coat check available at the hotel for $2 per item. Large bags and coats can be checked so they don't weigh you down at the ball.
