Ask any member of the Lolita community about Mari Nakamura, and you will always get the same reaction. As one of the top designers of Lolita fashion, Miss Nakamura's tale is one of awe. Having never attending any formal training or fashion school, she taught herself about fashion by designing and making her own dresses through trial and error. Taking a leap of faith to follow her dream, she founded Juliette-et-Justine in 2003 with very little knowledge of the fashion industry. Her goal was to design her own brand so she could make her dream dresses a reality using the passion she had for the industry. Since then, through both hard work and a lot of luck, Miss Nakamura's fashion designs have won over numerous people around the world. Her designs are romantic in nature and are often inspired through classical literature and masterpieces of classical paintings.
You will be able to see some of her designs in person at Anime North and get the chance to purchase some from her pieces from her table.
Be sure to also visit the Juliette-et-Justine website for the full catalog of designs available for purchase online at
