David "DARKSTONE" Ross
David "DARKSTONE" Ross began acting at a very young age. As a teen he landed many roles in Independent films, television pilots and a principal role in ROBOCOP the Series, along with the role of GRUMPIN in the film adaptation of the stage production "TOUCHING". David is also an accomplished script writer with an honors degree in film having written and directed several independent films. He has also collaborated on a variety of projects with Ed the Sock & Liana K (CityTV’s “Ed & Red’s Night Party”, “This Movie Sucks”), Gavin Stephens (CTV’s “Comedy Now” and “Comedy Inc.”) and many others. Currently he is also a writer and presenter for The Constellation Awards (Canada’s Science Fiction and Fantasy Awards for Film & Television) and has seen his own work nominated twice in the same year for the Aurora Awards.
David is also an avid costumer and cosplayer. He has won many awards at numerous conventions including “Best Characterization”, “Best in Master Class” and “Best in Show” from FanExpo Canada. Dressing up as Namor the Sub-Mariner, Conan the Barbarian and others have helped earn him the name “Naked Dave” on the convention circuit. David’s work has been featured in magazines and websites including the main page of Marvel.com. He has expanded on this to include “Boylesque” performances at the Questy’s Comic Book Awards, NerdGirl Pin-Ups Burlesque show and repeat performances at the Futurecon dinner banquet.
Recently, David (as Naked Dave) won a Canadian Comedy Award (for “Best Television Series”) for one of his multiple episodes of CH Television’s “This Movie Sucks” with Ed the Sock. David also took part in a celebrity roast of Ed the Sock along with John Tory (Newstalk 1010’s “Live Drive with John Tory”) and Rick Green (“The Red Green Show”).
Oh yeah, and he wrestles a lot too!
