Anime North is an anime convention located in Toronto, Canada that celebrates anime, manga, music, games and all other forms of Japanese Culture!
This year, Anime North will be the weekend of May 25 - 27, 2012 at the Toronto Congress Centre and Doubletree International Plaza Hotel. Stay tuned for further updates as we start to ramp up for this year's convention. We look forward to seeing you all there!
Attendance Cap to be Enacted for 2012
Anime North will be imposing an attendance cap on the convention starting in 2012, to deal with overcrowding issues.
A total of 15,000 Weekend admissions and 5,000 of each of the single-day only admissions will be sold for 2012.

Spirited Away: The Films of Studio Ghibli Ticket Giveaway

From March 10 to April 7 the TIFF Bell Lightbox will be presenting "Spirited Away: The Films of Studio Ghibli", fifteen anime masterpieces, including most of the works of Hayao Miyazaki. And you could win a double pass to the film of your choice!
The complete film schedule can be found here. To enter the contest send an email to " This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it " with:
- "Studio Ghibli Contest" in the SUBJECT line.
- Your name, email, and the title, day, and time of the film you would like to see in the body of the email.
Please note that the Lightbox requires you to pick a SPECIFIC film, and it will not be transferrable later. One entry per person please, duplicate names and emails will be weeded out.
The contest will close Friday, February 10th. Winners will be notified via email.

As of January 22, 35% of Weekend/Group admissions have been sold. Single-Day sales are sellinge also. There are still plenty of admissions left, but sales are continuing steadily and we advise you to pre-register if you wish to be certain to attend Anime North 2012.

The Nominoichi will return on Friday evening at Anime North.
Full details should be posted by the end of March, and table registration will begin about mid-April.

The Japanese Canadian Cultural Center will be showing both live-action GANTZ films (GANTZ and GANTZ: Perfect Answer) on Sunday, February 5th, starting at 1 PM.
You may attend at the JCCC member rate if you show an Anime North 2011 badge.

This year the price of a Comic Market/Crafter's Corner space includes the price of a weekend admission. You do not need to pre-register to obtain a table. However, if you have already purchased a weekend pass with the intention of reserving a space, we will honour that payment and you will only have to pay for the remainder of the table. Full details will be posted on the website soon.
