Nan Yan

Nan Yan (nawn yawn) is Chifu, Katto, Juri, Jaki and Tawni: A group of friends from Cape
Breton who enjoy performing and entertaining. Having met 7 years ago in an
all girls high school these five girls have been great friends ever since.
They are a comedy/dance group that have been performing at Anime North for a
few years now, but you are probably still wondering who these gals are.
Well…
It all began 3 years ago when they were spontaneously inspired to do an amusing performance called "The Millennium Dance" in which they dressed up as Pegasus (from Yu-Gi-Oh!) and his goons in black suits and did a choreographed dance of hilarity. The decision to do this dance was most random and the girls were not expecting it to do so freakishly awesome, nor were they expecting the victory afterward.
Doing "The Millennium Dance" gave the five girls joy but the sweetest joy of
all to them was the laughter of the audience. It was the best part of the
whole experience by far.
They were high…high on laughter.
Wanting more of this sort of merriment they decided to dub themselves as a
dance/comedy group called "Nan Yan" and to perform again next year. They
came up with another dance that starred them cosplaying as Dilandau (from
The Vision of Escaflowne) and his loyal Dragon Slayers Chesta, Gatti,
Dallet, and Miguel. This performance was called "Dilli's Smackdown"…. It was
smack-a-licious and pleasing to all, giving the girls another helping of
laughter from the audience. Oh such fun!
Nan Yan was still hungry for crème de laughter and when the third year rolled around they performed a buttery slick dance called "The Wolf Tribe Shuffle" starring them as the demon Kouga (from Inuyasha), and his wolfie buddies Ginta and Hakakku, plus two random wolfies they dubbed as Yatchi and Shin. It was sweet and they gained many howls from their happy audience. Not only did they perform their usual dance that year, but they also dabbled in the joys of the Saturday Night Masquerade. Recruiting some close friends from Cape Breton they preformed the memorable skit called "the Forbidden jutsu" that was filled with risqué thrusting action.
They were pumped full of happiness at the results of their third year and
now they are here again at Anime North 2007 to bring laughter to the masses.
This year you'll find Nan Yan opening for the Friday Night Masquerade so
come and see them!!…..The smiles are free!
